            Sandy Watt Quaich.

Our annual singing competition is held in memory of Sandy Watt who would sing any kind of song whether traditional, modern, bothy ballad or a song of the sea. On 21st November eleven singers took to the stage to entertain the audience and vie for the coveted Quaich. Whilst the competition is open to anybody this year all entrants were club members offering a mix of traditional, contemporary, show songs and a monologue.

Two of the entries were self penned and there was a mix of serious and humorous songs.

The audience were well entertained and then it was their turn to consider their winning choice. Duncan McNab was voted runner up but unanimously Hamish Grant was declared the winner with a very funny and well sung song called The Errant Apprentice'. To round the evening off Hamish gave a reprise of his song and then everybody enjoyed a sing around before heading for home.

The photo shows Hamish receiving the Sandy Watt Quaich from compeer David Aird.
